Prescribing a biologic is much harder than traditional medicines.  They cost significantly more and they have more insurance hurdles to jump through for approval.  AstraZeneca wanted to explore different ways to increase the likelihood that a patient could get a biologic shot on their first visit instead of waiting 60-90 days for insurance approval.

Field Sales Reps
AstraZeneca had a challenge managing their field sales force.  Internal feedback showed that reps were unsatisfied with their current tools.  They were given tablets to use but the apps they had were not designed for tablet usage.  This impedance between the apps and the devices caused a staggering amount of lost effort.   Read on to find out how much and how I addressed it.
